F2: Verschoor stages late comeback to seal victory in Barcelona Sprint Race

Richard Verschoor made a brilliant late strategy call work to his advantage as he fought through the field in the final few laps to win the Barcelona Sprint Race.
Following a Safety Car intervention, Verschoor was one of several to pit for the soft tyre, and the MP Motorsport driver made several overtakes over the next few laps to put himself in contention for victory.

On Lap 24 of 26, and the 23-year-old’s charge was complete as he overtook Jak Crawford for the lead, although he did have to hold off a fellow soft-tyre runner Alexander Dunne across the line.
The Rodin Motorsport rookie was forced to settle for second, ahead of Rafael Villagómez, as the Van Amersfoort Racing driver finished third to claim his first-ever Formula 2 podium.

Crawford wound up in P4 for DAMS Lucas Oil, with ART Grand Prix driver Victor Martins in fifth place.
Hitech TGR’s Luke Browning and Invicta Racing’s Leonardo Fornaroli had been in contention for the victory behind Crawford early on, but found themselves on the hard tyre late on, and dropped down the order to finish in sixth and seventh.
F2: Lindblad in scintillating form as he takes maiden pole in Barcelona
Sebastián Montoya had finished fifth on the road, but the PREMA Racing driver was handed a post-race penalty that dropped down to P11, which promoted Arvid Lindblad to eighth.
Lindblad is set to start from pole position in Sunday’s Feature Race, where he will be joined on the front row by Montoya.
